Margaret Irene Zander

She was born April 1, 1934 in Seattle, Washington to Earle and Ida Zander. She graduated from Issaquah High School. She got her Bachelor's degree from George Mason University and her Master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked as the director of senior services for 14 years for Prince William County Area Office of Aging and returned to this area, settling in Marysville in 1994. Margaret came from a long line of Square, Round, and Line dancers and enjoyed her various community activities. She belonged to the local YMCA, Lake Stevens Senior Center and Sno-King Singles.

Margaret is survived by her children, Scott Chitwood of Sequim, Connie Chitwood of Golden Colorado, Allan Chitwood of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Carrie Bly of Leonardtown, Maryland; her brother, Earle Zander of Loveland, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Margaret's life will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.
