

Marvin Dobson passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2014. He was born April 3rd, 1928 in Marietta, GA to Lois and William Dobson. Marvin’s early years were spent in GA. In 1947 he enlisted in the US Navy serving his country honorably for 5 years. He got a job with Boeing where he would work for the next 33 years. On the flight line he was just known as “Dobby.” Marv had the good fortune to have a sister who was always looking out for him. She introduced him to his soul mate Betty Thomas. They were married in 1978 and had 25 wonderful years together. Marvin’s hobbies were reading, watching Golf and Baseball on TV (especially the Mariners), and of course, going to the Casino. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Betty and brothers Paul and Billie. Also preceding him in death, his daughter Kathleen Kubec. Surviving family include brother Fred (Jeanette) and sister June Booker (Lee), children Steve McPherson (Edie), Kirk Kubec, Joe Kubec (Kathy), Keith Kubec (Lori), many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Marvin was a good man and will be missed. He is finally free of pain and is reunited with his beloved Betty. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm on Friday, September 12th at Marysville Cemetery, 8801 State Avenue, Marysville, WA. Dress casually as that is what Marvin would want. Mariner or baseball attire is welcome. A gathering for family and friends will follow the services. Arrangements under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, WA.
