

Melanie was born in Renton, Washington on May 17, 1974 and lived her early life in the South Seattle neighborhood of Rainier View. She loved spending time with her friends and church youth group, and especially enjoyed Saturday Christian Skate Nights. Melanie always loved roller skating and became very good at it. While attending High School, Melanie worked evenings and weekends at Skyway Pizza Hut.
Melanie graduated from Renton High School with the class of 1992 - She would go on to achieve two college degrees: An Associate of Technical Arts in Computer Repair from ITT, and her second but most cherished, Associate of Technical Arts in Early Childhood Education from Edmonds Community College.
Melanie was married to Paul Fowler on October 3, 1992, at Renton Church of the Nazarene in Renton, Washington. Melanie and Paul would have two daughters, Chelsea Renee and Alyssa Jean.
Most of Melanie's life was spent caring for and educating children, her greatest joy and passion in life. She worked many years as a teacher at Christian Life School in Mill Creek, and later at the Enchanted Little Forest Daycare Centers in Everett and Snohomish.
Melanie spent many years of her life involved in the AWANA Christian Ministry program, first as a child herself and later as an adult leader in the Cubbies program and Director of the Puggles program. AWANA was a ministry she would enjoy her entire life, along with her husband and daughters.
Melanie loved life and she loved people. She loved telling stories of her life and her family, having no problem sharing with complete strangers at times, even as a young child. There was never any doubt about Melanie's love for Jesus and the Bible. She attended the Lynnwood Church of the Nazarene/Silver Creek Family Church for over 25 years, helping in the Nursery and Children's Ministries. Melanie enjoyed singing the Hymns every Sunday, while also Signing the words in American Sign Language, another passion of hers. Melanie loved reading, two of her favorites were the Narnia and Harry Potter series. Melanie loved Hallmark movies and NCIS. She loved swimming, horseback riding and camping.
Melanie was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Demos and is survived by her mother Bonnie Ryder - her daughters, Chelsea and Alyssa - her grandchildren William and Lauren - her sisters, Tammi, Karen, Jennie, Emily - many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and extended family and friends who are going to miss her so very much.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held to honor Melanie at - Silver Creek Family Church in Lynnwood, Washington, on Saturday, January 15, at 3:00 p.m.
