It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our sweetest dearest Peggy Ann Emerson. While grief is difficult any time you lose someone so special. It is made even harder to be apart from one another because of this world pandemic. Peggy Ann Emerson (née Traylor) is smiling wide & embracing those she has missed for so long. It is without a shadow of a doubt Peggy is currently seated at a mahogany bar top, cozied up with her Dad and brother, catching up on the last few decades.
Peggy will forever miss her strong and loving husband of 25 years Marvin Emerson (and no doubt has already won some great gifts for him playing pull tabs!) She must be having a blast telling her dad all about how deeply Marvin loves her and how greatly he cared for her in her earthly life.
Peggy was a full time mom until her children were old enough to argue without supervision. She worked but wasn’t a career woman. She spent several years working as the secretary for the Unlimited Hydroplane Commission, and volunteering for Seafair events in Seattle. She truly enjoyed being a volunteer at her local voting precinct. She loved singing, brunching, painting, and riding around in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her best friend, Marvin.
Peggy would also be deeply missing her family, beaming with pride for her 4 surviving children; a son, Ricky Lee Hurley, and daughters Susan Bates, Leeann Page (Chuck), & Diane Powers (Garret). With the clarity of her mind and joy in her soul, she must be reflecting happily about many Christmas stories around the tree, Thanksgivings around the table and visits from coast to coast with her family! Peggy undoubtedly speaks of how proud she is of her kids and how she can’t wait to tell them all the things she couldn’t in the last few years.
All mentioned above grieve her loss tremendously as do her grandchildren: Jason & Amy Bates, Alicia & Brandon long, Christina & Mike McBride, Tyler & Kesa Hurley, Samantha Washburn, Garret Powers, Michael Hurley and Amber (Hurley) Smith. Great grandchildren include Couper, Cannon & Carter Bates, Taytum Long, and Abbi & Austin Flohrs.
There will be an online memorial site as well as a service this summer. Family and friends from near and far will gather at Lake Stevens to share stories, honor her memory, and give love to Marvin, her family and the many friends who survived her. Peggy was loved by everyone she met. Once you knew her you had a friend for life.
We will post a date as soon as arrangements have been made.
