Ruth Ellen Braden (60) was born in Yakima, WA on July 3, 1964 and died on July 8, 2024. She was raised on her family farm outside of White Swan, WA and graduated from White Swan High School in 1982. She attended Western Washington University then transferred to Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas in order to major in physical therapy. She graduated from that institution in 1989 with her Bachelor in Science degree. Once she was certified to practice physical therapy, she soon discovered a passion for home health care. Her gift for gab and warm smile helped her treat even the most-reluctant patient. Before returning to the Pacific Northwest, Ruth practiced in Texas and Florida.
For over thirty years, Ruth was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Aging Committee (Snohomish County Division) for eighteen years. She volunteered at the Peoria Home which integrates women back into society after sex trafficking and at St. Lucia Hospital in the Caribbean. While working in the home-health field in Snohomish county, she enjoyed sharing her knowledge at various seminars and clinical workshops. Geriatric and hospice care were her favorite topics and experience in these areas allowed her to assist in the care of her elderly parents and aunt.
In her free time, she enjoyed antiquing, thrifting, as well as spending time with her family and friends. Her dogs always received a lot of love and attention. She also liked to read, do needlepoint and make stained glass.
Ruth Braden was preceded in death by her parents Katherine and Jack. She is survived by her siblings John (Ellen) Braden of Coral Gables, Florida, Kate (Dave) Green of Wapato, WA and Allen Braden of Lakewood, WA; three nieces, Jennifer Green, Nicole Braden-Johnson, Katrina Braden, and two nephews, Zachary Green, Jacob Green; and three grandnephews.
