Sharman Elouise Gerdes

She was born in Eugene, OR on October 28, 1949 to Robert (Bob) and Wanda Blanding. Sharman graduated from the University of Oregon in 1971 with a degree in teaching.

Sharman started working as a teacher in Eugene and met Michael Gerdes a few years later. They married on November 30, 1974. They moved to the Navajo reservation in Arizona and she continued teaching until she moved to Tucson to get her degree in Library Science at the University of Arizona.

Sharman worked at the public library in Prescott Arizona and then later at the public library in Monmouth Oregon. She then started working with Michael together in their business before retiring in 2013.

She had a passion for sewing, making jewelry, crafting and collecting fabric.

She really enjoyed being a grandma. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband Michael Gerdes; daughter Maryn Gerdes; stepson Tim Gerdes; stepson and daughter-in-law Bryan and Alleah Gerdes; mother Wanda Blanding; grandchild Mackenzie; sister Kim Blanding; brother and sister-in-law Rob and Staci Blanding.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert (Bob) Blanding
