Shera Leigh Linville, 74, of Marysville, WA passed to our Lord on April 23, 2023 from pneumonia after a short illness. She was born on February 17, 1949 at home in a place called Hungry Hollow in Narrows, VA to Ellene “Tootie” Willis and Norman “Tinker” Wiley. She then moved in childhood to Baltimore, MD. It was there as a 14-year-old sitting on her front stoop that she saw a handsome sailor walk by and asked him the time. The sailor was 18-year-old Brian Allen Linville. Shera and Brian were married on May 27, 1965 and within 18 months had their first child, Jeffrey. The young family moved to Pilot Rock, OR where Brian’s family had a farm, and where they had their second child, Debra.
While living in Oregon, Shera attended Blue Mountain Community College to earn her business certificate and began her career as an electronic assembler for a firm in Pendleton. The family moved to Washington State in 1978 where she continued her career as an electronic assembler with firms in Renton and Bellevue before retiring from Boeing in Everett, WA. Shera enjoyed her friends and family, classic movies, and her collection of teddy bears and angels. She loved to dance and tell jokes, and had a great sense of humor. She had a special connection with dogs, hers and those of others, and could bring out the best in any dog.
Shera was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Brian. She is survived by her two children, Jeffrey and Debra (Robert), her three grandchildren, Ashley, Thomas (Naomi), and Kitty, and her two great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Audrey. There will be a memorial service on August 4th, 2023 at 11 am at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to The Humane Society of Skagit Valley (skagithumane.org).
