Vivian Lucille Creeden of Marysville, WA, (age 96) passed away on January 9, 2026. She was born in Everett, WA on November 22, 1929 to Hugh and Zelda Smith. She grew up in Everett, Fobes and Snohomish and graduated from Snohomish High School in 1947. After graduating she attended Everett Junior College.
She married James (Jim) Creeden in 1950 and they were married 59 years before his passing.
They built their home in Marysville in 1956, and she lived there for 60 years. She was a homemaker and raised four active and loving sons. She enjoyed playing cards (pinochle, hearts, Phase 10, etc.), gardening, and volunteered for many years at Everett General Hospital. After Jim's retirement in 1990, they enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV, taking many trips around the country, and particularly enjoyed snow-birding in Arizona with family and friends.
Her main passion was genealogy. She and Jim spent many years researching family records in Salt Lake City and other libraries (before the internet). She loved spending time with her grandchildren and provided them with many treasured memories. And she loved rooting for the Seahawks and Mariners.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Sylvia), David, John, and Richard (Cheryl), two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her brother Ronald Smith (Jo), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; and brother Gordon "Smithy" Smith.

A special thanks to the staff at Morning Star Silver Lake of Everett and to Bristol Hospice of Everett for the care they provided her.
Private interment will be at the Snohomish G.A.R. Cemetery next to her beloved husband Jim, and near her brother Gordon.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make memorials to a charity of their choice. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
