Walter Eugene Carlson, 61, passed away on January 19, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Walt worked as a truck driver for many years, one of the most amazing and funny guys you would ever talk to on a CB radio. Walt was so talented musically he could pick up any instrument and play it like a pro by ear, he was completely self-taught. If there was one word to describe Walt it would be "kind". Walt's family and friends enjoyed and adored him. His work ethic was evident in 12 years without a sick day. Walt's personality and gentle nature touched everyone around him. Among the many things he was admired for was his positive attitude about life. Walt is survived by his children, Angela (Josh) Thayer and Justin Carlson; his grand dog Lois Lane; his mother, Jeannie Clay; and siblings, Char (Craig) Meldahl, Cheryl (Tim) Scoles, Gordy and Kay Nies and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved his great sense of humor. Walt was an avid Seahawks fan, so a Seahawks-themed memorial service (come in Seahawks gear) will be held at Life Church 360 at 3131 Smokey Point Drive #1B, Arlington, WA 98223 at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice and Home Care in Walt's name. Arrangements under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, WA.
