The firecracker of our family succumbed to Small Cell Carcinoma of the Lungs May 2nd, 2014. She left this life as she lived it, on her own terms, stating “I'm going to be with Jesus in Heaven and I'll pick Louie up on the way by”. Born in Atlantic, Iowa December 14th, 1939 Wanda spent most of her younger years in Iowa and Nebraska. She moved to Washington in the '70's working at several jobs in Burlington, Sedro Woolley, Mount Vernon and at Boeing in Everett. Her final job was RETIREMENT! with husband Jack, becoming snowbirds between Yuma, AZ and Lake Connor Park in Lake Stevens, WA.
No one had as much fun or got the party started as Wanda. Even ho hum family gatherings turned into a “happening” when she arrived. She had a heart that invited everyone in. You could be a stranger who didn't know a soul or top management at Boeing it didn't make a bit of difference to Wanda. Within hours she'd know your name, your spouse's names, how many kids you had and what you liked in your red solo cup. Her favorite pass time was challenging people to repeat a limerick, which after hearing just once, won her table dinner and drinks all night from the legendary banjo picker Roy Clark.
Wanda was lucky to have 3 loves in her life, Carl Stevens with whom she had daughter Cindy(Richard) Sieverson and son Michael(Mary) Stevens. Anthony Bjorn with step children Tony, Julie and Mike. And Jack Robinson with step children Debbie and Cindy Robinson. She is also survived by brother Jerry Turner and sister Kathie(Bert) Rose. She leaves behind numerous grieving grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jess & Juantia Turner, sisters Patricia Manke and Judy Wright, brother-in-laws Dennis Anderson and Lawrence Manke and sister-in-law Mary Claire Turner.
As a final tribute to Wanda we challenge you to look to Heaven and repeat:
Here's to ya and from ya and to ya again I betcha I wouldn't let ya but now that I let ya I'd betcha I'd let ya again.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday May 11th, 2014 at 2pm at Lake Connor Park 14320 28th Street NE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258
Arrangements under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, WA.
