Born on October 3, 1942, in the Bronx, NY, Carol was the daughter of Vito and Louise Dragone and the loving sister of the late Martin Dragone. She married the late Eugene Harry Negri, and together they raised a beautiful family of three children, Lauren Foubert, Janine Tomassetti (Dominick), and Christa Alcamo (Tommy).
Carol was blessed with six grandchildren: Michael Foubert, Briella Tomassetti, Gianna Tomassetti, Giovanni Tomassetti, TJ Alcamo, and Nicoletta Alcamo, all of whom she adored. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved grandpup, Brooklyn, a chocolate lab who brought her great joy.
For many years, Carol worked as a dental assistant and office manager, a profession she dedicated herself to with great care. After retiring, she and Gene moved to Florida, where they enjoyed the beach, the sun, and the peaceful days of retirement. Carol was active at their local Club, participating in social groups and making lasting connections with her neighbors.
A woman of many passions, Carol loved to ice skate and dance. She especially loved to dance with her favorite partner, Gene. She enjoyed music and was a big fan of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin. She cherished watching old westerns and detective shows, and enjoyed the peaceful solitude of sunbathing by the pool. Carol had a deep love for arts and crafts, often spending time with her grandchildren doing projects. She was also known for her green thumb and her passion for gardening, which brought her immense satisfaction.
Above all, Carol’s greatest joy was her family. She was fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren, always going above and beyond to make them feel loved. She treasured every moment spent with them and poured her heart into nurturing the relationships she held most dear.
Carol’s grandchildren will always remember the comfort and joy of sitting at her table, where they would enjoy the pasta and meatballs she always made for them. Her wisdom and guidance were invaluable to all who sought it. Carol had a gift for offering words of comfort, advice, and encouragement, which helped shape the lives of those around her, especially her grandchildren whom she always shared great advice.
Carol took great pride in maintaining the family’s holiday traditions, especially their yearly visits to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island on Eastern Long Island. There, surrounded by the serenity of nature and the sacred presence of Mother Mary, they would take in the Nativity Scene displayed there every Christmas.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace.
