

Irma Nichols, age 92, of Delray Beach, Fla., previously of Massapequa, NY passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Ms. Nichols was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 17, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Julian and Epigmenia Ugalde. She lived in Massapequa for many years and raised her sons there. While a Massapequa resident, she was a longtime member of Maria Regina Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Robert Nichols of Delray Beach, Fla; son, Glenn Nichols of San Antonio, Tex; and son, Mark Nichols (Tricia) of Singer Island, Fla. She has three cherished grandchildren: Crystal (Branden) Houser, Garrett Nichols and Aubrey Nichols as well as one great-grandchild, Bellamy Houser. In addition to her parents, Irma was predeceased by her sisters, Betty Smith and Lydia Calimano and her brother, George Ugalde. Her family wishes to say that "Mom’s strong spirit and love of family were legendary. She was well loved and will be missed.” The Nichols family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
