Linda J Allen

Linda Joan Allen, aged 64, died peacefully in the early morning hours of February 17, 2018 at her home in Farmingdale. Linda was born to the late Vincent J. Rives and Violet Rives on June 12, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York. She is survived by her daughters; Angela and Jamie, Angela’s husband Chris, grandson- Colin, and her brother Jim.

Linda was a kind and generous person who passed away too young. She was a strong person and this strength shined through during her long fight with breast cancer. Even though she had her ups and downs with this disease and treatment, she always remained strong and never wanted attention focused on her cancer. Even to her last breath she put up a fight showing us all how strong she was. My mom wanted everyone to continue on with their lives and was more concerned with how we were doing and if we were happy.

I learned a lot from my mother. She taught me how important family is, the importance of continuing family traditions, making new ones, and how to be a mother. I learned how significant a strong work ethic is and how remaining positive can help us get through life’s biggest challenges.

Linda “wore many hats in her life”; daughter, sister, cousin, mother, friend, financial aid counselor, and a Nonna. All of these roles she did effortlessly and with unconditional love.

“We love you so much and wish that we had more time together. We will cherish all of the great memories we had and will carry continue to carry on your values within all of us. You will be missed by all and your memories live on forever in our hearts”.

Visitation hours will be on Monday February 19th, 2018 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.

Funeral mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Jim Lisante, on Tuesday February 20th, 2018 at 10:45am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church- 855 Carmans Road, Massapequa Park.
