

Mark was pre-deceased by his parents George and Dorothy Charles and beloved godson Douglas. He is survived by his wife Jeri, daughters Amy Janosek (David), Elizabeth Wolk (Pete), Kaitlyn Penston (Luke) and son Adam, 9 grandchildren Kristen, Kayleigh, Kimberly, Joey, Rebecca, Anthony, Declan, Charlie, Nuala, sister Susan Bucci ( Peter) , niece Emily, brother Bruce and sister-in-law Debbie Van Cura.
Mark graduated East Meadow High School, received a BS from CW Post College and a Masters in Disability from NYU. Mark was a Disability Analyst for Social Security Disability, sold sporting goods at Sears and taught drivers ed. He enjoyed volunteering at Old Bethpage Village Restoration and his years in TKE fraternity while at CW Post.
Mark and Jeri were lucky to find each other on a blind date and were happily married for 52 years. He was a very proud father and was happiest when he spent time with his family and grandchildren. He was avid Jets fan and season ticket for 40 years , enjoyed going to the games and never gave up hope they would win the Super Bowl again. He enjoyed vacationing in Montauk on the boat and visiting historic sites. He was an avid reader and had a tremendous collection of books. Mark was honored over the years to display his toy soldier collection at the library. You could always find Mark with a smile on his face sharing a joke with friends and neighbors.
