Paul Anthony Adamkiewicz, a beloved patriarch and proud family man, passed away peacefully in his home on March 4, 2025, at the age of 90. His devoted family fulfilled his wish to be at home when he passed, surrounded by family. Born on January 25, 1935, Paul lived a full and vibrant life marked by faith, family, and an unwavering zest for living.
Paul was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He was also predeceased by his siblings Felix, Wallace, Alfred, and Jeannie, and leaves behind his caring brother, Raymond. A loving father, Paul is survived by his children: Christopher, Linda, Kathy (Ralph) Maher, Gerald (Isabella), and Stella. He was a cherished grandfather to Kristi, Jonathan, Alexander, Luke, Samantha, Savannah, Steven, Jayden, and even his loyal dog, Buster. Throughout the later years of his life, Paul also took great joy in his great-granddaughter, Amelia, who brought light to his days.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Paul served his country with honor and carried that sense of duty into every aspect of his life. He was a hard worker, often holding two jobs to provide for his family, embodying the strength and resilience of a true patriarch. Known for his firm beliefs and headstrong nature, Paul was affectionately called a “stubborn Polish man” by those who knew him best. Throughout the later years of his life, his faith in God and devotion to Padre Pio sustained him.
Paul had a larger-than-life personality, with a great sense of humor that could light up any room. A passionate supporter of Donald Trump, he was never shy about sharing his opinions. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: fishing with his son Jerry, betting on horses, and savoring good food—especially clams on the half shell, as long as they were big enough to meet his standards. Spoiled by Gerry’s cooking, Paul’s love for a hearty meal was matched only by his love for his family.
Funeral arrangements for Paul will be held at the James Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church in Massapequa, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery with military honors.
Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, strength, and laughter will live on in his family and friends. We keep his loved ones in our prayers during this time of loss.
