Eric , despite never having met your mom in person , I feel like i got to know her a little trough the stories you always tell with lots of love from your all family . I know that the last few years have become more difficult for her and all of you , but it will certainly be the good memories of a Life built with so much joy and love that will last forever .

Mom love and miss you forever, I am so glad of all the times we spent together and the memories we shared. I always loved you staying at my home for the holidays when you came to the Island to visit and I will always remember you saying to me how you loved being here and that it always made you feel like you were at home. I will remember you saying “Get out and see what’s out there in the world”. Will always love you Bye.

I am thankful for the three months I was able to spend with my mother in NH (3 separate) times. Also thankful to Daniel to letting me assist in our final gift to Mom, a pre-Christmas party with all her friends from the lake. She is a class act and will be missed. But she is joining so many old friends, I must believe this otherwise the loss would be catastrophic.

Grandma, you will surely be missed. I always enjoyed the time that we spent together, from your vibrant personality to your caring nature. I will surely miss listening to your many wonderful stories, if it was at times around my friends or at times that I would take you to dinner when driving home from various business trips. Your personality always shown through, my friends always said meeting you and spending time with you was a delight and no matter where we would go there would always be someone who would remember you from a previous visit.

My mother Ruth lived a full life. Her love of travel took her to many places and her ability to reach out to others, no matter the place or situation, was an attribute that helped her adapt as she traversed the globe. She enjoyed experiencing the various locations that she had only seen previously in photos. Mom raised three sons while maintaining a full-time job. This instilled in me the spirit to work hard and never give up. She was a loving wife to my father and later to Henry. Mom was also a loving grandmother to my children, Alison and Daniel, and loving mother in-law to my wife Beth. She enjoyed my son in law’s company, especially watching him catch and throw back the fish in the lake.  We have so many fond memories spent together with mom including skiing the slopes of Mt. Sunapee, cross country skiing, swimming, kayaking and water skiing as a family on Mountain View Lake.  She was fun loving and truly loved life and her family. 

Mom’s wish was to remain at her beloved home on Mountain View Lake. Over the past several years, as her health declined coupled with covid rules and regulations placed by the home health care agencies, this proved challenging. Health care was especially difficult to find and maintain. We worked tirelessly to keep mom’s wish alive for as long as possible. Now she is at peace.

We will miss her dearly. So, here is a toast to her with that “drink that everyone is drinking.”  Her legacy will endure.

Ruth was always a part of family ,spending time with us on every holiday and vacations in Florida.
We always had an open invitation to spend time in New Hampshire, skiing and enjoying winter and summer at the Lake house for over 50 years
.
On her 80th birthday she joined us with friends,  who adored her Zip-lining at mountain Sunapee.

.  Like a champ she finished the  race .

In the end we wish with all our hearts things would have end differently, but she was strong in her faith and has a place in heaven.  God Bless

Grandma, you were always a brave, independent, and vivacious woman. Your personality would command a room and you would make friends with anyone and everyone that you met. I will miss spending time with you and enjoying your company - trying to keep up with you as you swam laps in the lake (well into your 80s), skiing and snowshoeing with you, talking about recent books that we both enjoyed, drinking coffee on a cool summer morning and enjoying the peacefulness of the lake, listening to you sing along to music that was always playing on your Alexa, and more. Christmas will not be as cheery without you and your love of festive sweaters and twinkle light necklaces. You brought cheer and happiness wherever you went.

You had a deep love and passion for travel and exploration that never burned out. Throughout my life, I always enjoyed going through your pictures of your recent trips with you and hearing you recant your favorite memories from your latest adventure. From a young age, you instilled in me to live life to the fullest and to always never turn down an opportunity to explore,  travel, and experience new things. With every story you told, you painted such a clear picture to me that would almost make me feel like I experienced your adventures with you...whether it was a simple walk on the High Line in the spring, cruises to Alaska, exploring Brazil, enchanting trips to Amsterdam and Germany, fine dining in Italy or adventures in China. Your passport was never empty. Upon your return home I would find you quickly planning your next adventure.

I toast to you, with the "drink that everyone is drinking," and to your life that was full of adventures and love. When I return to New Hampshire, I will be sure to drop a paper boat into the river and watch it navigate the rapids like we used to do.

Ruthie became so dear to me over the last several years.  We enjoyed going to Mass together at St. Patrick Parish in Newport and attending functions/dinners at the church.   This was really special to Ruthie.  We enjoyed afternoons on her deck.  The sun streaming down on us from the road side, where we celebrated her 90th Birthday,  and the cool breezes from the lake side while watching all the activiey on the water.  I loved hearing about her life from a little child in Germany to raising her family on Long Island.  Family was very important to her and she loved talking about all her children and grandchildren.  

Last Christmas was so special for Ruthie as family and friends from the neighborhood gathered at her home for a beautiful celebration with a "real" christmas tree that Ruthie had requested.  She really thrived on community and so loved to have neighbors drop in to say hi and share a cup of coffee and a snack with.  We will all miss those times with her especially Raymond .

There is so much more I could say but the most important now is that I will miss her dearly.   But I have great consolation knowing that she is resting in the Peace of Christ and there is no more pain, sorrow or tears.   Ruthie I hear there is a lot of dancing in Heaven, I can just see you now.  Love you and God bless you.

Eric and family, although I never had the pleasure to meet your mother, the stories you shared through the years certainly made me feel very close to her and the rest of your family.  We all realize the last year has been difficult and it is important to recall all the laughs, fun, experiences and special moments you all shared.   Please accept my deepest condolences  on her passing.  Her love continues to shine through...

One of our fondest memories of Ruth was seeing her and Raymond sitting on her deck having a cup of coffee and a pastry.  Which Raymond loved doing.  He will miss her very much.  
 I will never forget her bringing Clifford books over to our house and reading to our grandson.  He enjoyed that moment with her💖

My family had a cottage next door to Ruths on Mountainview Lake. Ruth was over at our place a number of times and we went over to her place as well. We mostly talked from our respective decks with greetings and stories. She was always exhuberant. Her daily swims across the lake totally amazed me. She had remarkable strength and endurance. She will be sorely missed.

Ruthie was simply a strong, friendly, quirky, generous, and interesting presence on Hamel Road here by Mountain View Lake in Sunapee, NH. She was locally famous for her swims across the lake which continued AT LEAST into her eighties.  She was also a world traveler who always kept a stash of dog biscuits for the neighborhood pets and a supply of coffee and danish for the neighbors. 

We’ll always miss her and send our condolences to the entire family who did what they could to keep her happy with some sense of control over her life as her powers failed her.

So full of life, embracing the day.  We shall miss you being with us, Ruth, and will savor all the good times we experienced together.  They are a gift.  Love 💕 you, always. Gloria
