Sandra Lee Dawson Crown went to be with the angels on April 13, 2023. Adored wife of Michael Crown, cherished daughter of Andrew and Louise Dawson, daughter in law to W. Douglas Crown, Sr, and Janet Crown, and step mother in law Margaret O’Rourke Crown, beloved sister to Melinda Dawson, Cynthia Blumgart (David), Michael (Ellen), and James Dawson (Janet), sister-in-law to William Douglas Crown, Jr., nieces and nephews Carolyn, Christopher, Matthew (Alyssa), Christi (Cailean), Keith (Katie), Jessica (Kent), Benjamin, Ashley (Joe), Jackson (Sarah), Casey (John) Madeleine (Seth) as well as great nieces and nephews Ian, Gavin, Kaia, Cameron, Lucas, Jayden, Joseph, Lila, Addison, Maya, Emma, Ella, Dylan and Taylor. All were blessed to know her kindness, generosity, loyalty, wonderful sense of humor, good cheer and radiant smile. Sandra attended Park Avenue Elementary, Brookside Junior High and Calhoun High in Merrick, and graduated from Hofstra University with a degree in Spanish. Sandra had a long career in the airlines, starting at Pan American Airways, where she joined her father, Andy. Delta Airlines became her next employer where she was valued for being clever, hardworking and a problem solver, always sharing her good cheer. She was a fabulous cook and Christmas tree decorator. Sandi traveled the world with husband Mike, and visited family to celebrate good times and show support when family needed her. She endured a long illness with courage. Sandi will be missed by Mike, family, and friends, who loved her very much.
