
She was born in the Happy Ridge community of Mason County, on May 7, 1909, to the late Viola and Leonard Moran. She lived her entire life in that community until moving to Maysville in 2007. She was a housewife/farmer/landowner in the Happy Ridge community until that time.
Mrs. Dillon was a member of the first graduating class of the new Sardis High School in 1930. She was the first of nine class members to cross the stage and receive a diploma from the new school.
While attending Sardis and Washington schools, she was involved in many activities including women's basketball.
She married Chester Lloyd Dillon on Feb. 6, 1932. Mr. Dillon passed away in 1976.
Mrs. Dillon was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she taught children's Sunday School and Bible School for more than 70 years. She held many positions in the church and was treasurer of the Bethel Cemetery. She was also a very active member of the Mason County RSVP for several years.
Mrs. Dillon is survived by her two daughters, Ruth Marshall and Ethella Mann (Harry), both of Maysville; four grandchildren, Sharon Marshall Collins (Robert) of Arabi, Ga., Thom Marshall (Millie) of Lexington, Troy Mann of Cincinnati, and Melissa Mann Hendrickson (Robert) of Maysville; two sisters, Lillie Cracraft of Russellville, Ohio, and Frances Stokes (Hubert) of Maysville; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren complete the family circle.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charlie Marshall; a brother-in-law, Horace Cracraft; a sister, Virginia Hardman and Ollie; one brother, Clinton Moran and Bernice; and two grandchildren, Ann and Keith Marshall.
Services are 11 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Shannon United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Finch officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shannon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thom Marshall, Troy Mann, Michael Collins, Bryce Hendrickson, Rick Collins, Travis Marshall, Trent Marshall, Bob Hendrickson and Larry Dillon.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
