
Helen Wagers Vance, 97, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Evansville, Indiana. Mrs. Vance was born on October 17, 1915, the daughter of the late Arch K. and Mary Fowler Wagers and raised in Estill County Kentucky. She was the second youngest of thirteen children, all of whom have preceded her in death. Helen moved to Williamston, Ky. as a beautician in 1938. After their 1938 marriage, she and Guy Vance raised three children, Robert, Nancy and Juanita. In 1979, Helen and Guy moved to Maysville. Guy Vance died in 1994. Helen moved to Holiday Village Independent Living facility in Evansville in 2007. She was a member of Maysville’s Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star for over 50 years, a member of both the Grant County Homemaker’s and the Mason County Homemakers and a member of the Mason County Square Dancing Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, traveling, gardening, canning and growing roses. Mrs. Vance is survived by her children: Robert Vance (Judy) of Maysville, Nancy Sebree (Ken) of Avon, Indiana and Juanita Working (Bob) of Evansville, Indiana, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Helen Vance will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Maysville with Rev. Eric Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Williamstown Kentucky Cemetery at 3:00 PM Saturday. Visitation will be Friday, October 26 from 5 until 7:30 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 26 west Third St., Maysville, KY 41056.
