Lela Mae Rankin

Lela Mae Rankin, 83, of Old Main Street, Maysville died Monday, July 15, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was the widow of Hubert Lee Rankin who died November 6, 2005. Mrs. Rankin was a member of the Maysville Church of Christ, the Mason County Homemakers, a past Volunteer with RSVP and an avid quilter. She was born in Petersville, Kentucky on September 18, 1929 the daughter of the late Everett and Edith McRoberts Hester. She is survived by three sons, Ronald Rankin (Linda), David Rankin and Greg Rankin (Denette) all of Maysville, KY; two daughters, Alice Rankin of Maysville, KY and Janet Morris (Dean) of Augusta, KY; thirteen grandchildren, Allen Rankin, Adam Rankin, Matthew Rankin, Christopher Rankin, Chase Rankin, Dylan Rankin, Natalie Rankin, Lindsey Rankin, Amanda Rankin, Stacey Rankin, Brandi Brawner, Kristin Morris and Bradley Morris and Six Great Grandchildren; one brother, Jesse Hester of Maysville, KY and two sisters, Minnie Prater and Joyce Singleton both of Wallingford, KY. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Rankin and Phillip Rankin; four brothers, Noel Hester, Keith Hester, Clayton Hester and Raymond Hester and one sister, Blanche Doyle. Funeral services for Lela Rankin will be held at the Maysville Church of Christ at 1:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2013 with Bro. David Waggner and Bro. Hillary Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Baptist Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to the Maysville Church of Christ, 721 E.
