

Evelyn Fossitt, 92, former resident of Maysville died Sunday January 22, 2012 at the Charlotte Harbor Health Care Facility in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was the widow of Clay Fossitt who died in February of 1980. Clay Fossit was the owner of the Fossitt Lumber Company in Maysville, Kentucky. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 11, 1919 the daughter of the late Gus and Katherine Williams Clevenger. Evelyn formerly worked at the Ryan’s Drug Store and she was a member of the Moose Lodge. She also volunteered at the Maysville Nursing Rehabilitation Center and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter Susan Curry of Port Charlotte, Florida; three sons, Donald (Jan) Fossitt of Elberton Georgia, Larry (Glenna) Fossitt and John (Sharon) Fossitt all of Maysville; ten grandchildren, Tim Fossitt, Lori Fossitt, Angie Fossitt Breeze, Mark Thomas, Kelly Thomas, Renee Vantine, April Fossitt Osborne, Nathan Fossitt, Julie Fossitt Sheek and Leslie Fossitt; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Two sisters Katherine Highlander of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Doris (Charles) Havens of Wilmington, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a son Jason Fossitt; sisters Millie Moon, Dorothy McPherson and Virginia Barnett and brothers Gene Clevenger and Lloyd “Buck” Clevenger. Services for Evelyn Fossitt will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday January 27, 2012 with Pastor Tony Cox officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mark Thomas, Kelly Thomas, Nathan Fossitt, Tim Fossitt, Connor Osborne and Scott Osborne. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Hope 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
