Maysville - Paul Alan Muehlbauer, every occasion photographer, sharp dresser, wrist watch lover, lighthouse collector, wearer of plaid shirts with pockets, electronic gadget amasser and joke cracker died Friday, November 17, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side. He was 84. Mr. Muehlbauer retired from Wald Manufacturing as an engineering draftsman after 45 years of service. He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the US Air Force. He was an avid blood donor and was recognized by the Red Cross for his lifesaving contribution of 13 gallons of blood over his lifetime.
Paul was born in Maysville, Kentucky on February 1, 1933 the only child of the late Paul Anthony Muehlbauer, and Marie Bruns Muehlbauer. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Joan Huber Muehlbauer; his children, Paul Muehlbauer (Jane) of Maysville, KY and Lisa Griffith (Steve) of Bear, DE; his grandchildren, Lauren Griffith, Julia Muehlbauer and Paul Andrew Muehlbauer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Luke Anthony Muehlbauer and Matthew Paul Griffith.
Paul married into a large family and had many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sue (Ferinand) Case both deceased, Judy (Robert) Vance, Dick (Donna) Huber, Chick deceased (Judy) Huber, Declan (Mollie) Huber, Gay (Eddie deceased) Kleier, Ricky Huber, he is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Church on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Noon with Father Michael Black officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery with military rites provided by the Simon Kenton VFW Post 2734. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until noon. Pallbearers will be, Travis Huber, Kevin Case, Zach Tatum, Doug Wulfekamp, Kendall Case, and Carl Barker. Honorary Pallbearers are Dick Huber, Ricky Huber, Declan Huber, Bob Vance, Gerald Hundsrucker, Matthew Hundsrucker, Gary Hundsrucker and James Tierney. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the mass. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 2:00 PM for good food and bad stories.
