Roger F. Gibbs

Roger Franklin Gibbs, 69, of East Fifth Street died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Mr. Gibbs formerly worked at the Sportsman’s Club and was an avid UK Fan. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky on January 5, 1943 the son of the late Harvey and Gertrude Commodore Gibbs. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Gibbs of Augusta; three sons, Roger F. Gibbs, Jr. of Maysville, Jeffrey Gibbs of Louisville and Kendall Franklin of Cincinnati, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Harvey Gibbs, three sisters, Mary Eva Gibbs, Lillian Gibbs and one sister in infancy and two grandchildren. Funeral services for Roger Gibbs will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, April 6, 2012 with Pastor Elizabeth Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the hour of the service.
