
Stephen B. Wilcox, 68, of Maysville, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Hospice Care Center at Kenton Pointe. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 11, 1947 the son of the late Bob and Mary Young Wilcox. Steve taught one year at Maysville Junior High School and worked at the Bank of Maysville. He worked at EPT as a computer programmer/analyst until his retirement in 2006. Mr. Wilcox is a 1965 graduate of Maysville High School and a 1969 graduate of Taylor University in Upland, IN. He was an active member at Central United Methodist Church in Maysville where he served in many capacities including: administrative board chair, church treasurer, financial secretary, finance committee chair, taught a Bible Study, sang in the church choir, and helped in any way he could with many outreach projects. He loved sports, had a wonderful sense of humor, prayed, cared deeply for his family, and was a kind and loving man. He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Marla Miley Wilcox; his daughter, Jessica Wilcox Harper (Neal) of Lawrenceburg; his son, Wesley Wilcox of Nicholasville; grandson, Jeremy Jordan, sisters, Bobbie Zeigler (John) of Maysville and Becky Ashburn-Shelton (Dick) of Elkins, W. VA; nieces, Megan Zeigler Wilson (Cowen) of Buda, TX and Meredith Zeigler of Mt. Sterling and a special family friend, Ken Roberson. Services for Stephen Wilcox will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Central United Methodist Church, 912 East Second Street, Maysville, KY. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Rev. Cameron Rash and Rev. Jim Powell officiate. Music will be provided by Ken Roberson, John Zeigler and Bobbie Zeigler. Pallbearers will be Greg Miley, Kim Miley, Neal Harper, Dave Weaver, Rob Baker and Ken Roberson. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Hughes, Jack Allison, Allen Price and Cecil Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church, Gideons International, National Parkinson’s Foundation or the charity of one’s choosing. The arrangements are under the direction of the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home.
