Alvin Gordon Powell

Alvin Powell of Stockbridge, Ga passed away on Thursday January 29, 2026. He was born in Ashburn, Ga to the late James and Mildred Powell. Alvin’s family moved to Henry County when he was in the 8th grade and it remained his home until moving into his Heavenly mansion. One of the first to greet him at that mansion was his beloved wife of 50 years, Yvonne.

Alvin had an incredible work ethic and dedicated many hours to his profession while at the same time always being present for his family.

Spending time fishing, hunting and going to the beach were always peaceful times for Alvin as well as getting away to the casino or watching the Braves play. He got the most pleasure out of being Papa to Kameryn and Kymber.

Alvin's memory and legacy lives on through his son and daughter-in-law Jason and Krissi Powell, his granddaughters Kameryn and Kymber, his sister Katherine Turner, his brother Ernie Powell and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on February 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, located at 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA, 30253 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm.

The committal service will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA, 30252.
