Baxter Keith Bedell passed away at his home September 12, 2024 with his wife by his side. Baxter grew up in Augusta, Georgia before moving to McDonough. His profession was a Funeral Director for 40 years serving families both in McDonough and Jonesboro. Baxter graduated from Butler High School in Augusta. After graduation he attended the University of Georgia and was a member of UGA’s Redcoat Band f/k/a The Dixie Redcoat Band.
Baxter’s passions were genealogy, model building and history. Many of his friends said he was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. Baxter was a member of 22 Lineage Societies and was a Mason. He and Ginger enjoyed traveling and frequently went to Disney World. They are members of McDonough Presbyterian Church in McDonough.
Baxter is survived by his wife and best friend of 31 years, Ginger Moseley Bedell and children, Heather (Tony) Comstock, Rachelle (Rodney) Fordham, Bryan (Kristi) Wilson. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jody, Payton, Trey, Gillian, Preston & James as well as his best friend for over 50 years David Stone and many other friends.
A memorial service for Baxter will be held Saturday October 5, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel in McDonough, officiated by Dr. Davis Bailey. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
