Curtis Leon Gay

Mr. Curtis Leon Gay, age 88, of Hampton, Georgia passed away February 13, 2018. Mr. Gay was born in Dublin, GA the son of the late Aaron and Myrtice Gay. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn Gay and siblings W.J. Gay, Sue Witherington, Frances Estes and Wanelle Helton.

Mr. Gay was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church. He was a man of great integrity and character. A devoted father and husband who loved his family dearly. He was happiest when he was spending time with family and friends.

He spent 10 years serving his country in the United States Air Force before retiring from a 20 year career as an Air Traffic Controller.

Survivors are his children, Curtis Michael (Jeanie) Gay of Register, GA, Angela (Richard) Crenshaw of Hampton and Karlyn (David) Smith of Griffin; grandchildren, Kelli Gay of Dunwoody, Emily Loesel of Canton, Trey Crenshaw of Hampton, Brannen Crenshaw of Hampton and Gracie Smith of Griffin; brother Gene (Gail) Gay of Weslaco, TX and sister Rita (Larry) Albert of Perry, GA.

Funeral service will be on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Kory Burel officiating. Interment will follow at Berea Cemetery in Hampton. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior.
