Delores Knowles Landis

Mrs. Delores Knowles Landis, age 82 of Hampton, Georgia passed away August 22, 2015. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James Edward Ware, Jr. and Lucene Bolden Ware. She was preceded in death by husbands, William Alton Knowles, Jr. and Howard J. Landis. She was retired after 30 years with Ft. Gillem and was a very active member of Locust Grove United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Henry Medical Center and delivered Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed knitting. Survivors include her children, Michael D. and Vicky Guy Knowles of Cleveland, TX, Kathleen M. Knowles of Hampton, GA, Susan K. Crutchfield of Hampton, GA; grandchildren, Savannah Knowles, Will Knowles and Joshua Crutchfield; great granddaughters, Brianna and Kaylee Knowles; cousin, Jetty and Maria Leach of Snellville, GA. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim Buckman will officiate. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Mrs. Landis.
