Dianne Mary Van Dunk

Dianne Mary Van Dunk, age 73 passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Dianne was born in Bainbridge, New York to the late Howard and Mary Janas. In addition to her parents Dianne was greeted in Heaven by her husband Robin "Bob" Van Dunk.

At a young age Dianne learned the art of sewing, as well as cross stitch and crocheting, and she enjoyed the creative outlet they supplied her throughout her life. She loved comedy, whether it was standup routines or ventriloquists or her favorite British comedy show, Dianne was always ready to share a laugh. She also liked quiet times with a crossword puzzle and she was a voracious reader.

Dianne served her country as part of the Women's Army Corps (WAC) and later received her discharge from the United States Army. Dianne would continue to serve those who served when she aided her husband Bob in the formation of the Veterans Support Group in McDonough, Ga.

Dianne's memory lives on through her son Bobby Jacobs Jr (Cheryl) and daughter Marie Rose along with her grandchildren Avery, Gavin and Emma. She is also survived by her sister Karen and brothers Dale and Duane and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation for Dianne will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM, in the Haisten Chapel. A committal service will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Hwy, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
