Douglas Cecil Butler, Jr.

Douglas Cecil Butler, Jr., age 74, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Sunday October 7, 2018. Douglas was born September 27, 1944 to the late Douglas and Reba Butler. Doug was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the US Army. Mr. Butler was a devoted Christian who loved to share the word with others. He was a University of Georgia football fan. His greatest love is Jesus and by that love he rightly loved his family. Doug is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Butler; his daughters, Tammy B. (Dan) Martin, Christy B. (Todd) Griffin; grandchildren, Cory (Katelyn) Griffin, Casey Martin, Coleman Martin, Georgia Griffin, Carley Martin; first great grandchild on the way; brother, Darryl (Janice) Butler; sisters, Dawn Butler, Janelle (Scott) Smith; niece Dianna Butler; nephew, Brian Butler; and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday at Bethany Baptist Church. A celebration of life for Douglas will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
