Edna Mae Knight

Mrs. Edna Mae Knight, age 88 of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 5, 2017. She was born in Locust Grove, Georgia to the late Gilbert Henley, Sr. and Corine Barnett Henley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Haywood Knight and by her brother, Gilbert Henley, Jr. Edna was a graduate of McDonough High School, Class of 1946. She was a nurse for Dr. G.R. Foster, Jr. for 34 years and then retired after five years as a nurse at Snapper. Edna loved to cook and sew. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Patterson of McDonough, Kathy Knight of Tennessee and Joanne (Jeff) Hutchings of Woodstock; grandchildren, Bart Patterson, Hayli Smith, Brandon Patterson, Jenny Brewer, Alex Pence, Taylor Cahill, Buck Saye, Cody Hutchings and Hannah Hutchings; 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 – 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. James Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
