Ethyl Maxine Phillips

Ethyl Maxine Phillips, age 68, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was born in Hialeah, Florida to the late Lawrence and Pearl Wheeler. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Walter Kenneth Phillips and her brother Marshall Wheeler.

Ms. Phillips is survived by her children Ronnie (Andrea) Griffin, Annette "Fran" (Joseph "Honey Bear") Greenwood, Jennifer Phillips, Christopher Phillips, and Angie (Donnie) West; grand children Ronnie Boggs Jr., Rebecca Boggs, Sara Griffin, Jonathan Slauson, and Hannah Gentry; brothers Mike Wheeler, Chuck Wheeler, and Bruce Wheeler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxine worked for 25 years at Zacks Grocery Store. She loved working and enjoyed her job. She became the caretaker for her parents and took good care raising her children. She was a member of Southside Christian Fellowship and knew many people within the McDonough community. Maxine loved to look at old field barns and was a country girl at heart. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

A visitation for Ethyl will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, Georgia 30253. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 PM in the Haisten chapel. After services her burial will take place at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, 4 N Bethany Rd, McDonough, GA 30252.
