Harold Donald Davis

Don was preceded in death by his sister Mildred Humphrey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Betty Crawford Davis; his son Philip (Peggy) Davis; his sister Ann Kidd Aliff; his granddaughter Sarah (Andrew Gerritsen) Davis; and great grandchildren Will and Eleanor.

Don and Betty lived in Holland, Ohio when they were married in 1953. Don worked as a mechanic for Norwalk Truckline then Nicholson Concrete. In 1973, they moved with their son Phil to Morrow, GA where Don worked for Consolidated Freightway until his retirement.

In 1985 Mr. Ed Echols moved the house they bought, from Dunwoody to their 6 acre lot on Airline Road in McDonough. It was an exciting time and their granddaughter Sarah shared many good times there with them.

Don enjoyed helping friends and family as well as strangers. For many years Don and Betty habitually visited folks who were ill or grieving. Don used his mechanical skills to work on the church bus as well as many vehicles of friends and acquaintances.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Sharon Church Chapel located at 536 N. Ola Road, McDonough, GA. A visitation will take place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Joanne Ministry Fund at Sharon Church.
