Hope Allen Swygert

Mr. Hope Allen Swygert, age 83 of McDonough passed into eternal life early morning March 19, 2015 at Sacred Journey Hospice. He was preceded in death by his incredible wife of 57 years, Faye Zinck Swygert and brothers, Albert, John, James, Thomas, Charles and infant sister, Janie Ann. Hope is survived by sons, Mark (Brenda), David (Ashley) and daughter, Cindy (Fred) Carter along with beloved grandchildren, Wil, Wes, Katie and Seth Carter, Kyle Swygert and Riley Swygert and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Hope was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a very skilled tool and die machinist, owning Metalflex Manufacturing Company, serving his customers and employees with excellence for over 50 years. His kind and generous spirit will be missed by many. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Haralson, Georgia with Pastor Steve Shivers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Mt. Pilgrim Lutheran Church in memory of Hope.
