Mr. James Ronnie Crews, age 77 of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away June 6, 2018. He was born in Fayetteville, Georgia to the late Andrew Ellis and Rachel Elizabeth Egleston Crews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew Eugene Crews and Larry Ellis Crews. Ronnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. He was the co-owner of C & C Trucking for 20 years and had been employed with Enterprise Car Rental for 15 years. Ronnie enjoyed soft ball, coaching ball and yard work. He was known for his work ethic. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Helen Crews of Jonesboro; daughters, Darlene (Glen Freeman) Cook of Locust Grove and Rhonda Crews of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Rachel (Dakota Reese) Crews of Jackson and Riley Freeman of Locust Grove; sister, Debie Coffee of Jacksonville, FL; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 10, 2018 – 2:00 PM at the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Talmadge French will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
