James Albert Israel Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James A. Israel Jr., who departed this life peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 73. James (Jimmy) was born on May 29, 1952, in Murphy, North Carolina, to James A Israel Sr and Dorothy Lee Israel.

Jimmy was a dedicated husband to Georgia Elaine Israel, his loving wife of 53 years and a devoted father to Michael and Crystal. He was the proudest grandfather of his five grandchildren, Matthew, Marissa, Madelyn, Mitchell and Maxton (his 5 M’s). Papa was his proudest title.

Jimmy was a hardworking man that drove a truck for 50 years and went over 5 million miles (accident free). He was proud of this accomplishment and enjoyed his career, earning multiple safe driving awards.

Jimmy is survived by his wife Georgia Elaine Israel, his children Michael Israel and Crystal Kite (Chad), his grandchildren Marissa Law (Sean), Madelyn Smith (Payton), Mitchell Israel and Maxton Kite. He is also survived by his father James A. Israel Sr, as well as by his brother Gary Israel and his sister Kathy Roberts.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Lee Israel, and by his grandson Sgt. Matthew Lee Israel.

James’s legacy is one of integrity, resilience and love. To know him was to love him. He cared deeply for his family and all of his friends. His family invites everyone who knew him to join them in celebrating his life and sharing their memories.
