Ray served his country in the United States Army and after his return from Europe he would continue as a public servant spending over 28 years with the East Point Fire Department as a firefighter and EMT. Once Ray retired he went on to spend another 10 years driving for FedEx.
Ray loved all things outdoors especially fishing hunting and going to the beach. He also took great pride in his yard and vehicles, always making sure they were kept clean.
Ray truly loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter Kelly (Darrell) Johnson and grandson Austin. He is also survived by his sisters Joe Ann Josey and Marsha Bell, niece Kasey Guimarin, nephew Christopher Bell and great nieces and nephews Noah, Luke, Lily and Talon as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
Ray's giving heart and charitable spirit will be missed by all those that knew him.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation in Rays name be made to Philippi Baptist Church 2355 Old Jackson Road, Locust Grove, GA 30248 to help continue their ministry to the community.
