With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her remarkable life, we announce the passing of Janet Copeland Morris, who entered eternal rest on June 24, 2025, at the age of 75. A beacon of love, strength, and joy, Janet left behind a legacy that will continue to shine through everyone who knew her.
Born December 3, 1949, Janet was a proud sister to Barbara Lay and Frank Copeland, a fierce and loving mother, and a two-time breast cancer survivor who battled every challenge with unwavering faith and positivity. Though Alzheimer’s may have dimmed her memories in her final chapter, it could never touch the light she brought to others.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas O. Morris Sr., and by her three precious "Manfreds" (IYKYK). Her sisters Charlene Copeland, Susi Copeland and her brother Jerry Copeland.
She is survived by her three children, who will carry her spirit forward every day: Stacy Morris (Michael Mills), Thomas Morris Jr. (Jerri), and Holly Palumbo (Jason). She also leaves behind six adored grandchildren: Mason (Katie), Meggan, Ryan, Katie, Jason Jr., and Abigail, as well as two sweet great-grandchildren, Paisley and Addison.
To know Janet was to love her. She was the world’s greatest catcher in her church softball league — even though she never really tagged anyone out. She found joy in anything beach-related, never passed up a moment to say “Whatcha know, Joe?”, and ended every conversation with her signature phrase: “I love you more.”
Her heart was full, her smile contagious, and her spirit unbreakable. She didn’t just survive life’s storms — she danced in the rain with a sunhat and a beach towel.
As we say goodbye for now, we take comfort in knowing that Heaven just got a little brighter. Until we see you again, Mom, Granny, Sister, Friend — we’ll be listening for a “pretty much” in the breeze.
In lieu of flowers, should you feel led, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Breast Cancer Foundation, two causes close to Janet’s heart.
Rest easy, Janet. You truly were one of a kind.
