So sorry to hear of Jimmy passing.  I worked at the same company as Jimmy for many years. He was always a pleasure to chat with and he was always willing to help anyone. We had several common hobbies we talked about, and I have fond memories of him. R.I.P. my friend.

I have nothing but fond memories of my papaw. 
I remember papaw always taking us grandkids on crazy adventures. One time, he took us all to the river by his house, where we got in and ended up getting extremely muddy and gross. My papaw joined in on the fun too! Once we were done in the river, we all hopped into his truck, and he took us to a gas station to get snacks. 
Us kids were hesitant to go in because of how dirty and disgusting we looked, but papaw didn’t care and walked right in.. without shoes and soaking wet! He got exactly what he needed, came right back out with a big ole’ smile on his face, and not a care in the world. 
That’s how I’ll always remember my papaw... he would do anything for his family. His love and loyalty to us could never be questioned. He truly loved with all his heart and showed it in both word and deed.
I’ll miss all of our late night talks, just me and him, when he’d tell me all of his crazy stories from his teenage days. I’ll miss the way he used to get all choked up any time he prayed or spoke about what the Lord was doing in his life. I’ll miss him giving me a big hug, and telling me, “Love you, baby girl.” I’ll miss watching him love on my son. I’ll miss listening to all of his gardening tips and tricks. Ill miss all of his silly jokes. I’ll miss him calling everyone “Charlie Brown”.  I’ll miss him taking me to his tool shed and teaching me how all of his tools worked. I’ll miss shooting guns with him. I’ll miss going to watch fireworks with him on the 4th of July and getting lost on our way home. 
There’s really nothing I won’t miss about my papaw. Nothing.
I love you forever and always my sweet and precious papaw. 
Heaven has never sounded sweeter. 

My very first memory of Jimmy was our first date, a blind date set up by our mutual friend, Charlotte. It was a triple date, with 6 of us in a Volkswagen! I was 15, and he was 16, and I cannot remember a day since then he has not been present in my life. We married, had 2 beautiful children, and our lives were knitted together forever. 
Jimmy loved his family with all his heart. He showed his love to each in giving his time, and effort to solve any problems that might arise. I remember how hard it was on him when Debbie was about to be married. He said he didn’t want to “give her away” because no one would care for her like he did! He spent time with Robby, teaching him how to do things that would help him in the future with his own family. 
Jimmy had a servant’s heart.. He would see a need, and fill it, fix it, or whatever, whether he had your permission or not! 
But his love in life was working with children. Because of his own experiences, he knew how important it is to let children know they are loved, who Jesus is, and how He loved them most and always! 
One of the unique things about Jimmy was he loved shopping.  When we were fIrst married, I panicked when he went to the corner store and was gone for 2 hours! There was always an excuse, like he saw someone he knew, or someone had a problem and he helped them, or something happened while he was there. I finally got used to him being gone a long time whenever he went to the store. He never changed! His average time shopping for groceries was at least 6 hours! We were the total opposite in most ways, but the Lord used each of us to grow the other over the years. 
He was my husband, he was my child, he was my friend, he was my provider, he was my protector, and he was always there!
Our 58 years were filled with everything:
happy times, hard times, sad times, enjoyable times, heartaches, forgiveness, disappointments, love, peace, laughter, but most importantly, we both had Jesus!
I will miss you always!


Taking drives to the store for a bottle of coke and peanuts as a little girl with my dad and brother.
Spending hours in the store shopping, because he waited till Christmas eve to do his Christmas shopping. 
November 29,1985 when my dad walked me down the isle to give me away to Jeff ❤️❤️

The way he loved my kids and my grandkids just like he loved us.  Miss him so much!❤️

Sorry to learn of Jimmy's passing.  Jimmy and I were neighbors growing up in Forest Park. Sympathy to all the family.
