Joanne T Boyd, 85, of McDonough, passed away Monday August 24th, 2020 after a brave and tough battle with cancer. She was a true inspiration to all. Born in Franzfeld, Yugoslavia in 1935, she was one of eight children. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Boyd.
Joanne’s journey in life was a story of great hardship and strength, which she learned at a very early age during the war. These lessons carried her through her life and were often a topic of discussion with family and friends. She was always willing to tell of her journey so the history and lessons were not forgotten. Known lovingly and fondly as “Honey” to all who knew her, she always had a laugh, a smile and was up for any adventure.
As a mother, there was no better. Family was very important to her. She was very loving, encouraging and always had an ear to listen. She would offer advice and recipes anytime. She had a passion for gardening her plants, and would offer clipping to anyone wanting to try.
Her heart was open for all stray animals that came her way. She had great love and fondness for Billy, Corys adopted pug. Missed will be the wonderful days spent cooking, learning recipes, and just spending those precious moments together.
She is survived by her four children: Earl Boyd (Jennifer), Debra Lee (Pete), David Boyd (David Pugh), Stacey Northcott (Robert); sister Herti Schaible (Heinz) of Pforzheim, Germany. Grandsons: Bradly Lee, Justin Lee, Cory Northcott, John Edward Boyd, and granddaughter Giana Lee-Upshaw (Alex). Great Grandsons Kayleb and Kaiden Lee, and niece Dr. Anja Schaible (Dr. Semih Gurler) of Heidelberg, Germany. In addition, she is survived by many beloved family and friends.
A memorial service is being held in her honor on Saturday September 5th, 2020 at 11:00am, at First Baptist Church of High Falls in Jackson, GA with Pastor Scott Chewning officiating.
