Mr. John Wayne Chapman, age 82, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away on April 11, 2016. He was born in Rome, Georgia to the late Clyde Alonzo Chapman, Sr. and Florence Williams Chapman. He was preceded in death by siblings, Clyde Alonzo Chapman, Jr., Garrard Chapman and Thelma Chapman Lowery. John retired after 30 years with the Georgia DOT. He enjoyed hunting, auctions and eating out. Survivors include his children, Ronnie Chapman, Steve Chapman, Debbie Chapman Petty, Kenneth Chapman and John Eskew; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Chapman Shaw, Maxine Chapman Burton and Lucy Chapman Dennington; companion, Ethel Sellars. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Zack Nipper will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.
