John Wells Elliott, age 71, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Sunday October 14, 2018. John was born June 7, 1947 to the late Harold and Jessie Elliott. After a long career as a retail manager with Sears, John worked at the Publix at Lake Dow, then most currently at Ingle's. John loved to fish and never met a stranger. He had a huge heart and was there for anyone who needed him. John was an avid University of Alabama football fan. The greatest love was his family, with his grandchildren being the center of his world.
John is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Randall Elliott. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice Elliott; children, John C. (Beretta) Elliott, Robin (Jason) Chandler, Dennis M. (Jessica) Elliott; grandchildren, Cody (Cassie), Brittany, Ansley (Kaylee), Dawson, Mica, Chevy, CJ; great- grandchildren, Zoey, Sophia, Grace, Easton, Savannah, Freya; extended family; and a host of friends.
His family will receive friends on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway South, McDonough, GA 30253. In honor of John, please attend the service in comfortable clothes in Crimson and White. Roll Tide!
