John William "Jack" Miller, Jr., age 81, of McDonough, Georgia passed away August 14, 2021. Jack was born April 30, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John William Miller, Sr. and Lenora Mildred Cox Miller. He was preceded in death by two uncles and one aunt. Jack faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the VA and the State of Georgia. He was a member of the Jodeco Road United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He was a former lay leader in the church and stayed very active in church activities. He was an avid reader of the Bible, was very patriotic and enjoyed walking in his neighborhood. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rachel Davis Miller; sister, Gwendolyn (Clark) James of McDonough; brother, Gerald (Sheila) Miller of McDonough; five nieces and one nephew and numerous grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to Jodeco Road United Methodist Church, 1500 Jodeco Rd., Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 in memory of Jack.
