Karen Edwards

Karen Renee Edwards, age 66, of Locust Grove Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 20, 2026 after a gallant journey with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Philip “Skip” Edwards, and her parents, Emmett and Lois Itson.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughters, Candace (Brett) Freston of Dacula, GA and Dawn Gonzalez (Marvin) of Houston, TX; son, Philip Edwards, Jr. of Locust Grove, GA; granddaughter Chloe West of Dacula, GA; grandson Carter Freston of Dacula, GA; sister Belinda Shelnutt of McDonough, GA; brother Scott Itson of McDonough, GA; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Edwards was born on May 17, 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from North Clayton High School. She spent most of her career at J.C. Penney’s Outlet in Forest Park, GA. She also worked many years at Walmart in Locust Grove, GA.

A visitation will be held at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, US, on April 29, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm at the same location.

A Committal Service will take place at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30281, US, on April 29, 2026.
