Mr. Kennedy Rinehart Coulter, age 93 of McDonough, Georgia passed away December 15, 2018. He was born in Wedgefield, South Carolina to the late Francis Marion and Evelyn Hood Coulter. He was preceded in death by a son, Kennedy Rinehart Coulter, Jr. and by siblings, Frank Coulter, Paul Coulter, Wee Coulter and Dorothy Webber. Ken faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during WWII defending our freedom on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He retired after 36 years as a Division Manager with Sears and Roebuck. Ken was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He loved music and singing and was a former music director at church. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Geraldine Miller Coulter; children, Wayne Coulter of Locust Grove, Sharon Deadwyler of McDonough and Glenn (Michelle) Coulter of Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Andrew Deadwyler, Bethany Coulter and Emily Coulter; sister, Mary Miller of Tucker; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 – 1:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dan McKay will officiate. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. While flowers are accepted, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Mr. Coulter.
