Kenneth Wilkins, age 84, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Ken was born in Thomaston, Ga to the late Eugene and Carrie Wilkins. Ken spent many of his younger years working in the textile mills in Thomaston and providing for his mother after his father passed away. In 1960 he would marry Linda Mae Britt and begin his family; later, he would apply to become a Georgia State Trooper but ultimately opted to continue working in textiles. In 1969 he began a 30 year career with the JC Penney company that would bring him and his young family to Riverdale, Georgia. Ken was a man who believed in a strong work ethic which he demonstrated daily. He and his family faithfully attended Riverdale First United Methodist Church; later he would rededicate his life to Christ at Teamon Road Baptist Church. Linda passed away in 1990 with terminal cancer, and he would later marry Julie Foster in 1993. After retiring from J.C. Penney he would revisit his love of Law Enforcement by working with the Henry County Sherriff's Department as a bailiff in the court system. Ken was an "All-American" man, he enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, yardwork, carpentry, dogs and cats. He liked watching World War II and western shows, especially ones that featured heroes like Gen. George Patton, Dwight Eisenhower and John Wayne.
