Lemual "Hugh" Carmichael Sr.

Lemual "Hugh" Carmichael Sr., age 96, of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 15, 2023. He was born December 9, 1926 in McDonough, Georgia to the late Boyd and Kittie Mae Mitchell Carmichael. Hugh was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Katherine Barnes Carmichael and by a grandson, Rodney A. Davis. Hugh faithfully served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired after 30 years with Ft. Gillem, was a member of the First Baptist Church of McDonough, the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Survivors include his children, Connie M. (Roger) Davis and Lemual (Denise) Carmichael; grandchildren, Candace Patrick, Lee H. (Caroline) Carmichael and Hannah (Sage) Lauderdale; great grandchildren, Buddy Allen (Anna) Patrick, Micah Hugh (Noel) Patrick, Alaina (Jonathan) Frazier, Sidney Carmichael, Jessica Davis, Skylar Lauderdale, Rhett Lauderdale and Beau Lauderdale; great-great grandchildren, Allie Joy Patrick, Ethan Patrick and Violet Patrick. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 - 2:00 pm in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Roger Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Friday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Mr. Carmichael.
