Mrs. Linda Hand Albertson, age 75, of Ellenwood, Georgia passed away February 19, 2017. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Henry Floyd and Florence Ella Pace Hand. She graduated from Henry County High School, Class of 1959 and received an Associate’s Degree from the Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. Linda retired from the Department of the Army. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Decatur, was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and doting on her dog, Scooter. Survivors include her children, Lea Elkins Turner (Jeremiah) of Hampton, Lynn Elkins North (Kevin) of Sharpsburg, Michael Yates (Nancy) of Hampton; grandchildren, Brian Wheeler, Lindsey Wheeler, Jessica Pittard, Amanda Swint, Ashley Swint, Daniel Crews, Jacob Yates (Leisha) and Adam Yates; great grandson, Callan Townsend; faithful companion, Scooter. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions are asked to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Oak Grove Baptist Church, 3676 Boring Road, Decatur, GA 30034 in memory of Linda.
