Mrs. Linda Elaine Hughes, age 69 of Hampton, Georgia passed away July 23, 2014. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Raymond Edward and Sylvia Isabell Darnell Hornsby. Linda was a member of the Jonesboro Church of God. She retired after over 30 years with the Clayton County Board of Education at Kemp Elementary School. She enjoyed church and going shopping. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Gene Hughes of Hampton; children, Dorrie Cox of Newnan, Susan Shull of Buford and Sandy Hughes of Morrow; grandchildren, Alex Johnson, Josh Shull, Christopher Odom, Jordan Shull, Bradley Johnson and Kaylee James; seven great grandchildren; sister, Kathy Gainous of Morrow; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service.
