Marilyn Goodwin

Marilyn Goodwin, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023. She was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee to the late Lyndon and Larah Shelton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Larry Butler.

Mrs. Goodwin is survived by her husband of 61 years Russell "Buddy" Goodwin; children Lori Goodwin and Greg (Michelle) Goodwin; sister Barbara Butler; grandchildren Kale (Lauran) McDaniel, Cody McDaniel, Shelly Goodwin, and Zackery Goodwin; great grandchildren Joshua McDaniel and Sadie Rae McDaniel; and several other beloved family members.

Marilyn loved her family. She was a terrific wife, mother, and grandmother. She often visited Panama City Beach and enjoyed the ocean. She cheered for the Georgia Bulldogs, loved to read, and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory.

A visitation for Marilyn will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, Georgia 30253. A celebration of life will be the following day, Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church, 1724 Highway 155 N, Mcdonough, Georgia 30252. A burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
